The universe as living energy: understanding the world anew

Contemporary science has begun to confirm what ancient spiritual teachers have intuitively known for centuries. At a deeper level, the world is not made of solid matter, but of fine, subtle energy that vibrates in different intensities and forms. What appears to our senses as separate and motionless, such as objects and bodies… at the level of subatomic particles ceases to be material and passes into a field of pure energy.

In other words, we are not separate entities in space, but waves in a shared ocean of existence. Our body, thoughts, emotions, all of these are forms of energy of different density. Thoughts are fast and fleeting, emotions pulse in the body as dynamic patterns, and the physical body is built as a dense structure of energy. Everything changes, everything vibrates, nothing is static.

In systemic practice, it is precisely this energetic unity that comes to the fore. When one person in a family feels fear or shame, these emotions can be passed on to descendants as invisible energetic information. It does not matter whether something was spoken, what matters is whether it remained in the field. And that field, familial, collective, personal, functions as a network through which energy circulates until it is seen and released.

When we work on ourselves, we become aware of our waves. Of emotions that come and go, of thoughts that guide or confuse us, of bodily sensations that speak their own truth. Instead of trying to control everything we feel, we learn to allow the body to become a conscious instrument through which life flows. And then we begin to understand. Not intellectually, but from within. To understand that we are not separate, but part of the whole.

From the Orthodox perspective, everything that exists exists through God's grace. Matter is not the enemy of the spirit, but the visible form of the invisible. The Holy Fathers speak of the “unseemly beauty of the world”, the beauty that invites us to sense through form the One who created it. And so, when we speak of energy, we are in fact speaking of the living Spirit of God, who permeates everything, carries everything, sanctifies everything, if we are ready to receive Him. In that spirit, every thought, emotion and movement of our body can become a prayer. Every vibration, whether of pain or of joy, becomes an opportunity to be present, whole, connected. For in that ocean of energy, nothing is lost, everything is waiting to be brought into awareness.

In Buddhism, the world is not experienced as a fixed reality, but as a constant flow of change (anicca), energies in motion, without a permanent essence. Everything is empty, but not a meaningless space. Emptiness (shunyata) is openness to all the forms that arise and pass away.

In Hinduism, the universe is seen as a manifestation of Brahman, the eternal, all-pervading consciousness. Everything that exists is a form of energy (prana), a form of play (lila), in which the atman (soul) forgets and again remembers its divine origin. The Upanishads say: “As a spark comes from fire, so the world comes forth from Brahman. All of it is He.” When the practitioner realizes this truth, they no longer seek God outside, but recognize Him in every breath, in every particle of existence.

In contemporary science, quantum physics is overturning old paradigms of a fixed and predictable universe. Instead of solid matter, we discover energetic patterns, fields of probability, interdependencies.

The physicist David Bohm spoke of the “implicate and explicate order”. The explicate order is the world we see, physical reality, objects, space, time. The implicate order is a deeper, invisible order from which everything visible arises. It is all-encompassing, connected, whole and not localized. According to Bohm, everything in the universe is in continuous movement and mutual connection, and what we perceive as separate is in fact the expression of one and the same whole.

That is why, when we speak of the universe as living energy, we are not speaking only of vibrations, but of connection.

Through affirmations, constellations, prayer, meditation, breathing and presence, we return the body to the rhythm of the cosmos.

An invitation to deeper change

If this text has touched you and you want to go further, you will find more on these themes in the books of Dr Jelena Đorđević, which are the fruit of decades of work in the field of systemic constellations, inner healing and spiritual maturing.

And if there is a calling in you to learn more, more deeply and more fully about how systemic constellations and affirmations work, how issues are set up, how the process is guided and how spiritual dynamics are recognized, we invite you to join the training through the Academy for Constellation Studies and Systemic Practice, where knowledge becomes experience, and experience leads to wisdom.

Once a month we gather and talk live, share insights, you ask questions, we grow together. There is always room for you here. Wherever you are on your path, your place already exists. Join our community through the Dr Jelena Live program.

Whether you choose a book, an affirmation, a workshop, a training or the community, choose yourself.

All it takes is conscious intention. And the path of conscious intention does not ask for perfection, but for presence. It does not ask us to know everything, but to be ready to open up.

The first step is not big. But it is true.

And when it is true, it is already bright.
